MixAlco® MixAlco > Testing for Commercial Use

For more than three years, Terrabon has been testing the MixAlco technology, in cooperation with Texas A&M University, at its pilot plant in College Station, Texas. The pilot plant, which is capable of processing up to 200 dry pounds of biomass per day using paper wastes and chicken manure, proved that MixAlco can commercially produce cellulosic ethanol and renewable gasoline.

In mid 2009, the pilot plant will be reconfigured to demonstrate the conversion of the ketones produced at the Advanced Biofuels Research Facility into "green" gasoline.
